 PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN EKSTRAK DAUN KETEPENG CINA (Cassia alata L.) DALAM PAKAN TERHADAP PROFIL LIPID BROILER

ABSTRACT

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of adding leaf extract of Chinese ketepeng (Cassia alata L.) in feed to lipid profiles in broilers. The study used 200 broilers (unsexed), the Cobb strain reared up to 35 days of age in a litter box cage with a DOC weight of 40.325 g/head with a diversity coefficient of 3.57%. The treatments were divided into 5 different types of rations, namely P0+ (commercial feed + 0.1% tetracycline antibiotics), P0- (commercial feed + 0% Chinese ketepeng leaf extract), P1 (commercial feed +0.5% Chinese ketepeng leaf extract), P2 (commercial feed +1% Chinese ketepeng leaf extract) and P3 (commercial feed + 1.5% Chinese ketepeng leaf extract). Experimental Design Using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. If there are significantly different results, then Duncan's Multiple Distance Test is continued. Variables observed were lipid profiles including LDL, HDL, triglycerides and total cholesterol in the blood taken at the age of 35 days. The results showed that the treatment given did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on the lipid profiles which included HDL, LDL, triglycerides, and total cholesterol. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that an increase in HDL levels and a decrease in LDL, triglycerides, and total cholesterol were not determined by the presence of Chinese ketepeng leaf extract (Cassia alata L.).
